12.   ELIZABETH1 GIBAUT died November 23, 1881 bearing the name Elizabeth Babot.  She married HENRY ALBUERY July 28, 1824 in St Helier, Isle of Jersey.  Henry Albuery died 1830 Lost at sea.

·         Elizabeth was buried bearing the Babot whom it is assumed she married after Henry was drownded.

·         In 1841 Elizabeth is listed as Inn Keeper in St. Martin Jersey

 I'll include links and extracted info.  There has been a lot of research undertaken on the Albeury family. Not seen any proof that the family is Huguenot in origin, but why not? There is persistence in the spelling, 130 years since the revocation of the Edict of Nantes and 1,000s of refugees to UK.

Absence of evidence, is not evidence of absence.

...I have now found the following entries in the Grouville registers:
1) John George, son of Henry Allbery (sic) and Elizabeth Gibaut, his wife, baptised December 10th, 1826. Godparents: George Asplet and Elizabeth Jeune.
2) Elizabeth, daughter of Henry Allbery (sic) and Elizabeth Gibaut, his wife, baptised July 11th, 1826. Godparents: the child's father and Louise Allbury, his sister.
3) Henry-Francois, son of Henry Allbery (sic) and Elizabeth Gibaut, his wife, baptised 6th February, 1828. Godparents: Philippe Le Boutillier and Susanne Bertram.
4) Henry-Francois: son of Henry Allbury, buried March 18th, 1828.
I have searched for the marriage of Henry Allbeury and Elizabeth Gibaut but have not found it.  Curiously I have done some research on the Neel family which included Elias Neel who taught your ancestor.
